Monthong durian (also known as “Thai durian”) originates from Thailand and is widely cultivated in Vietnam’s Central Highlands and Southeastern regions. The fruit is slender and well-shaped, with sparse spines and a light green to slightly yellow shell, averaging 3–5 kg in weight. Its pale-yellow flesh is sweet, nutty, and mildly fragrant less intense than Ri6 featuring small seeds, firm and chewy texture, and a long shelf life suitable for long-distance transport.
