Dak Lak, Vietnam’s coffee capital, has been making a strong mark on the global trade map thanks to its comprehensive agricultural development. Many enterprises have overcome challenges to bring their products to demanding markets such as the EU, the US, Japan, Korea, China, and ASEAN, affirming both quality and brand value. According to statistics, in the period 2021-2025, Dak Lak’s total export turnover is estimated at over $9.4 billion, reaching 190.5% of the initial target, with an average growth rate of 12.5% per year. By 2025, the export scale is expected to be 1.73 times higher than in 2020, marking a remarkable breakthrough.

Key Products Building the Brand

Major agricultural exports such as coffee, pepper, and cashew nuts continue to show strong growth. Meanwhile, honey has recovered after a challenging period, reclaiming its foothold in the market. Emerging products like durian, macadamia, banana, vegetables, and processed seafood have also seen positive signals. Durian in particular has contributed significantly to export turnover, creating high economic value and expanding opportunities in potential Asian markets. Beyond agriculture, Eastern Dak Lak has launched seafood processing projects with a capacity of over 40,000 tons per year, mainly exported to the US and EU. In the Western region, industrial processing factories have been running steadily, producing high-value products for both domestic consumption and export. This diversification in processing helps Dak Lak move beyond raw material exports, instead integrating more deeply into the global value chain. It is considered a sustainable strategy that raises product value while reducing risks from market fluctuations.

According to Tran Quoc Toan, Deputy Director of Dak Lak’s Department of Industry and Trade, during 2021–2025, the province has focused on administrative reform, digital transformation, resource mobilization, and creating a favorable investment environment. These policies have enabled businesses to expand production, strengthen competitiveness, and improve access to demanding international markets. The close cooperation between authorities and enterprises has produced notable achievements in export performance.

Dak Lak Agricultural Products Assert Quality and Reach the World

Toward Becoming a Major Export Hub

Dak Lak is not only affirming its brand with traditional agricultural products but also aiming for sustainable development. Expanding fruit-growing areas like durian and macadamia, alongside applying international production standards, has strengthened trust from global consumers. Well-planned raw material regions are connected with processing enterprises, forming integrated value chains. This creates a solid foundation for Dak Lak to become one of Vietnam’s major agricultural export centers.

*Affirming Vietnam’s Global Position

The export achievements of Dak Lak in 2021–2025 contribute not only to local economic development but also to the overall position of Vietnamese agricultural products in the global market. From coffee and pepper to durian and macadamia, each product represents efforts in improving quality and meeting stringent international standards. With these foundations, Dak Lak is moving closer to its ambition of affirming the Vietnamese agricultural brand worldwide, while ensuring sustainable socio-economic growth for the province.
